Apple is hours away from revealing its latest hardware and software news during its annual Apple Event, which this year will be held on September 9th, at 10 a.m. PT.
While there’s been quite a buzz around the upcoming release of the iPhone 17, there has also been some speculation about what the company could release in terms of its wearables, which include the Apple Watch and AirPods.
Updated Apple Watch series to go with your new smartphone
The company is expected to release a new series of smartwatches, including the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and an updated version of Apple Watch SE.
Nevertheless, Bloomberg reports that users shouldn’t expect major changes to the Apple Watch Series 11 after the device's overhaul last year.
The Apple Ultra 3 model may attract the attention of those who think of upgrading their smartwatch. It is rumored to include a bigger screen and satellite connectivity, allowing users to stay connected even in remote locations.
Apple’s lower-end smartwatch, Apple Watch SE, is also expected to receive an update, the first in three years. This way, Apple expects to compete with other companies in the entry-level watch market, such as Samsung and Fitbit.
The company is also focused on turning some of its products into health devices. It was previously reported that Apple plans to create an application that would include a health coach or an AI-powered “doctor.”
Nevertheless, considering what users think of Apple’s AI capabilities, the idea didn’t sit right with some users online who mocked Apple’s future health app.
While the future of the new app is not certain, the company did bring back the blood oxygen feature for the Apple Watch, which was banned in the US due to being sued by California-based health tech company Masimo.
Apple may turn AirPods into a health and fitness device
There’s been more speculation about what Apple could show during the product launch event. For example, the company may also unveil an upgraded AirPods Pro.
Last year, the company added a new hearing health system to its earbuds, making them multipurpose devices.
This year, Apple is expected to add a heart-rate monitor to the earbuds, which will allow users to track the energy they have burned without needing a smartwatch. This way, the company may be hoping to attract health and fitness enthusiasts who may eventually decide to invest in pricier Apple devices like smartwatches.
Along with this, users can also expect improved ear fit and an updated charging case.
What else might be up Apple’s sleeve?
While numerous speculations circulate about what Apple may present, the most anticipated product that the company will unveil during the event is the iPhone 17.
It’s not clear whether the new product will generate a surge of memes related to the new iPhone’s camera placement or start online discussions about Apple’s plans to revive Siri.
