Apple finally unveiled its latest devices during "It's Glowtime” event on September 9th, 2024, at its headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Together with the highly anticipated release of the iPhone 16 with upcoming Apple Intelligence features, the company also announced the launch of its Apple Watch Series 10 with an upgraded Apple Watch Ultra 2.
For those looking to update their earphones, the company also presented its AirPods 4 lineup with updates for Apple AirPods 4, AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro 2.
Despite the array of new devices and features showcased during the event, people were mostly excited about the iPhone 16. As usual, the best way to express their opinion was through memes.
X users quickly started making jokes about the new device’s design changes (or lack thereof) and its high price.
The new iPhone 16 phones include a novelty Camera Control button that helps users take pictures more conveniently. The button offers a zoom-in/zoom-out option, autofocus, and a capture feature.
However, people quickly noticed that the new smartphone's design has remained largely unchanged, especially regarding the camera placement.
Another aspect that became an online joke is related to iPhone 16 pricing. The latest device costs $799, which made some users joke about how one can afford an iPhone.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 will start on September 13th, 2024, and will be available for purchase on September 20th, 2024.
