Samsung to expand its foldables collection with a three-fold smartphone


Reports are hinting that Samsung could release its first tri-fold smartphone this year.

An industry insider @Jukanlosreve, quoting a Korean tech news outlet, shared that Samsung's foldable lineup may consist of four models: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Triple Fold, and Galaxy Flip FE.

The details revealed that component production for the triple-fold smartphone should start in the second quarter of 2025, with the smartphone's launch scheduled for the third quarter of this year.

The new device could have a display of 9.9 and 10 inches when unfolded. The company is expected to release 200,000 units.

Samsung has been in a race with Chinese tech company Huawei to release a phone with a triple-fold screen. The latter introduced its $2800 foldable in September, 2024.

More companies have been working on their three-fold smartphones, one of which is Tecno. The Chinese company has created a concept of Phantom Ultimate 2, a three-fold smartphone, which can even be turned into a laptop.

Samsung will unveil its latest products during its Unpacked event this year, which will be held on January 22nd.

It has been speculated that during the event, Samsung should reveal the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra smartphones as well as a new generation smart ring and smart glasses.
