A camera glitch has clouded the joy of getting a brand-new Samsung smartphone.
Users are reporting that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series smartphone camera has a color banding glitch that’s noticeable during nighttime shots.
The glitch affects all Samsung Galaxy S25 series smartphones: the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
Users who noticed their camera glitching shared their problem online, questioning whether the issue was related to the device’s software or hardware.
“I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S25 base model, and I noticed that in some pictures with strong light or high contrast, a thick line appears that seems to have a different color. It appears quite often,” wrote one user.
“Got it same, but the stripe is on the right side of the picture, not in the middle, [...] I got base model S25 first day and I didn't expect this from a new flagship model. Also, the picture grain/noise is worse than on my old cheap ass A54,” shared another Redditor.
The news prompted many users to question the quality of the new smartphones and look for possible solutions, including asking the company for a replacement.

Samsung has already responded to the issue by stating that the problem should be fixed with the next software update, which is expected to be released in the upcoming week.
Nevertheless, the company encourages users to contact Samsung if the issue persists.
Samsung’s latest smartphones, which debuted last month, were released for sale at the beginning of February.
Before users got their hands on the company’s new device, YouTuber Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything released a video providing more insights into the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. His durability test also revealed details about the device’s camera, including “purely aesthetic rings around the glass.”
