Samsung may introduce a new way for its users to charge their future smart rings.
The company introduced its Galaxy smart ring last year and is now reportedly working on its second-generation device.
The patent revealed that the future smart ring could include changes in the way it will be charged in the future.
The current Samsung Galaxy ring supports both wireless and wired charging.
The images of the document show the next Samsung smart ring may be charged by putting it on the back of a compatible Samsung smartphone, first reports 91mobiles.

The document also reveals that the device will include sensors that can alert the user if the ring has been placed correctly in its charging spot.
Once the charging starts, the user will be able to see the charging status, battery levels, and other information about the ring on their smartphone.
As with many patents, it’s not clear if the company will implement this feature in its future devices. But it does provide users with a glimpse at what could be expected from the next smart ring.
It’s been reported that Samsung’s next smart ring could also include a feature that allows users to control other devices, such as laptops and tablets.
Among other predictions about Samsung’s future wearable, it’s been predicted that the company might release its next smart ring with an all-solid-state battery.
The company has created the world’s first ultra-small all-solid-state battery for wearable devices, with a reported energy density of 200Wh/L. Such a battery could replace lithium-ion batteries as they’re safer, have longer battery life, and have higher energy density.
