Trump administration releases UFO files in major UAP disclosure

The Trump administration has released a huge dossier of UFO footage, claiming it is intended for “maximum transparency” in what is viewed as a historical effort.
The White House said it’s releasing “the latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents… with no clearance required,” suggesting the handbrake of bureaucracy is being loosened.
Not only did the official release post on X advance a progressive notion, but it also leaned into criticizing former presidential campaigns, claiming that “past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people.”
The centralized government portal, initiated under the “Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) program,” will be a collaborative effort, leveraging external agencies like NASA and the FBI.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said, “It’s time the American people see it for themselves,” with the onus clearly on the public to demand total transparency.

Historical evidence
The first batch of UFO files includes transcripts from the Apollo 12 and 17 missions, which occurred in 1960 and 1972, respectively.
Fox News reported that one of the transcripts from Apollo 17 of unidentified objects flying nearby included a description as "very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling.”
And one of the FBI photos, meanwhile, shows what are allegedly two UFOs flying near US aircraft on December 31st, 1999. No explanation or context has been provided.
Officials said that the evidence has “not yet been analyzed for resolution of any anomalies.”
And some contemporary footage
Fox News did a video briefing with journalist Peter Doocy, who showed a hard drive he said was left on his desk overnight by a White House official.
Doocy cherry-picked several clips, including a video captured from the United Arab Emirates in June 2024 showing “an inverted teardrop with a vertically linear trailing mass,” explaining that the Department of War considers it “an unresolved UAP report.”
Another video from Iraq in December 2022 shows what appears to be a white dot flying diagonally across the sky, described as “an area of contrast.”
And finally, in the trio, footage from Greece shows a circular-looking craft flying near the sea towards land.

All the videos, amid a batch of other content, went live on war.gov/ufo, the government's official domain.
Quite how the online UFO community and the public at large react to the content remains a fascinating prospect.
More files are expected to follow.
