Apple hints at Google Gemini integration

Apple’s partnership with OpenAI might give it the green light to collaborate with other AI companies.

This year, Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) started by introducing Apple Intelligence and confirming speculations about ChatGPT being integrated into iOS18.

The company shared more about the ChatGPT integration with Apple’s Siri in the upcoming iOS 18 update. Apple users will be able to use it free of charge and without having to register.

In addition to details on its collaboration with OpenAI, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president, also revealed the company’s plans to integrate more third-party models into its software. He mentioned that one such model could be Google’s Gemini.

However, in the post-keynote interview with Federighi, he was quick to point out that while the idea is in the pipeline, a collaboration between the two companies is not yet confirmed.
