While there are no rumors about a touchscreen MacBook being released, Apple fans can create one by adding what may look like a screen protector.
Touchscreen laptops are no longer a novelty. However, not all tech companies offer one.
For those who want one but don’t want to replace their current laptop, Intricuit offers a solution.
Recently, the company unveiled Magic Screen, which, when placed on an Apple MacBook, transforms it into a touchscreen laptop.
Once the additional layer is enabled, it allows the user to scroll, swipe, zoom in and out of the screen, eliminating the need for a mousepad.
The Magic Screen also comes with a pen that helps turn Apple’s laptop into a tablet-ready device for drawing.
Magic Screen works by aligning with the MacBook’s built-in magnets. After installation on a laptop’s screen, a user also needs to connect the device through a USB-C cable.
Once that’s done, the regular MacBook screen is “converted” to a touchscreen.
The Magic Screen is compatible with MacBook Air models from 2022, 2024, and 2025, specifically the 13-inch and 15-inch M-series.
The additional screen can also be used on MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch laptops with M-Series chips from 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The add-on isn’t yet available for sale, but interested parties can join the email list to receive notifications of its release, which is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
The company notes that the starting price for the Magic Screen is $140.
