Samsung users may see how this collaboration looks in reality with the release of the Galaxy S26.
The companies plan to equip Samsung’s future devices with Perplexity’s app and assistant and integrate its search features into the Samsung web browser.
Perplexity’s tech could also be integrated into Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant.
The news about Perplexity integration could be shared this year, as Samsung could include Perplexity’s AI as a default assistant in the new Galaxy S26 smartphone, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
Samsung could become one of the biggest investors during Perplexity’s new round of funding. The startup, which is valued at $14 billion, could raise $500 million, reports Bloomberg.
The collaboration between the two companies could help Samsung to rely less on Google and instead work with different AI companies. Meanwhile, for Perplexity, this would be the company’s biggest mobile partnership.
The companies first started the talks about the collaboration this April, with meetings held in South Korea.
The tech giant and AI start-up also talked about creating an AI-powered operating system and an AI agent application that could use the functionality of Perplxity and other AI assistants.
