What could be announced during Samsung Unpacked 2026?

During last year's Samsung Unpacked event, the company announced its latest foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE, as well as wearables such as the Galaxy Watch8 series.

This year, the company is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup.

It was previously reported that the company may add Galaxy S26 Pro to its latest smartphone lineup. However, it was later noted that the company is sticking to its “traditional” series, which should include Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.

There were also hints that the Samsung Galaxy Plus variant would be replaced by the Galaxy Edge variant.

X tipster @IceUniverse, who hinted that the new Galaxy S26 Edge could be 5.5mm thick and include a 4200mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature rounder corners. It may also be equipped with an M14 OLED display. The device is also expected to be 0.3mm slimmer, at 7.9mm thick, notes ZDNET.

The Samsung smartphone is also expected to come with a new privacy feature that works as an anti-spy screen protector, allowing users to black out parts of their screen that show sensitive information.

The company could also release the Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro earbuds.

Besides new hardware, the company is expected to release One UI 8.5 software variant, since Samsung released One UI 8 together with its foldables last year.

The new software is expected to include more AI features, better customization opportunities, improved photo assist, upgrades to its Home Up, the Samsung system app, and more.

AI has become an integral part of Samsung’s devices. Bloomberg reports that the company may expand its AI features, which now rely on Google Gemini, by adding services from OpenAI and Perplexity AI.
