In this article, I’ve rounded up my 9 best cheap website hosting services that I’ve discovered over the years. As of April, each of them costs between $1.00/month and $4.00/month and delivers excellent quality. I’ll break down what I like – and what I don’t – about each one and provide a quick overview of their price-to-quality ratio, ease of use, performance, and customer support.

  • Free essentials included (SSL, domain registration, email, backups)
  • Customer support (24/7 live chat is ideal)

Best cheap website hosting services: my detailed review

To compile this list, I reviewed 20+ web hosts and identified the most cost-effective hosting options. I mainly focused on key factors like initial pricing, renewal cost, hidden fees (if any), performance, and the overall price-to-value ratio. In this detailed list, you can find my personal favorite budget-friendly web hosting providers and their detailed reviews.

1. Hostinger – feature-rich hosting at low cost

Free domain:✅ Yes

Best deal:🔥Get up to 81% OFF Hostinger + 3 free months🔥

In my experience, Hostinger is both easy to use for beginners and feature-rich for advanced users. Sure, it’s a bit pricier than some of the others, but it offers a lot more for your money. It is the #1 best web host in our performance tests, its feature set is more complete, including benefits not found with other hosts, such as web apps and AI agents for WordPress. Best of all, you won’t find yourself paying extra for things that should’ve been included in the first place.

Hostinger hosting pricing

  • Premium plan starts at $2.69/month and renews at $12.99/month. With this plan, you get up to 3 websites, 20GB storage, 2 mailboxes, free SSL, a free domain for 1 year, free migration, weekly backups, an AI website builder with 15 credits, and 1 year of free email marketing.
  • Business plan costs from $3.59/month and renews at $18.99/month. This plan gets you up to 50 websites, 30 AI builder credits, 50GB storage, plus 5 mailboxes and daily and on-demand backups, an AI agent for WordPress, free CDN, and 5 managed Node.js web apps.
  • Cloud Startup plan starts at $7.19/month, with a renewal price of $27.99/month. Additionally to everything in the Business plan, it also includes up to 100 websites, 100GB storage, 10 mailboxes, a dedicated IP address, priority support, 100 PHP workers, 10 Node.js web apps, and 4GB RAM.
Best value plan

For the most savings but maximum usefulness, I recommend the Business plan starting at just $3.59/month. The initial price difference between Premium and Business is not that big, but with Business you get way more useful features: AI WordPress manager, 5 web apps, a free CDN, and faster NVMe storage

Get Hostinger

🤔 Does Hostinger have any hidden costs?

No, Hostinger doesn’t sneak in hidden fees. However, it’s still a good idea to double-check everything at checkout. For example, some add-ons like backups or security tools might be pre-selected, so review your cart carefully before completing the purchase.

📊 Hostinger performance testing

I monitored Hostinger’s uptime and response time for two weeks using the Grafana Labs platform. Hostinger kept 100% uptime during this period, which is really impressive. The average server response time was only 246.19ms – that’s pretty fast and stable.

Next, I checked website speed with a Virginia, US, server. The speed index was 3.561 seconds – that means pages loaded relatively quickly in all my tests, but could’ve been a little faster still.

During the stress test with 50 virtual users over five minutes, Hostinger handled 14,546 requests with no errors. The average request rate was 47 RPS, and the 95th percentile response time was just 37ms. The server stayed stable, even under heavy load.

My overall experience with Hostinger – excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Using Hostinger felt refreshingly simple – mostly thanks to its AI tools. The AI website creator, for instance, let me build a site in just a few minutes, which honestly surprised me. I also thought the built-in domain name generator was a clever touch. The control panel (hPanel) makes managing your site and hosting feel straightforward.

Hostinger hPanel overview
Hostinger's hPanel is clean and organized

I especially liked that I could customize which widgets appeared on the dashboard – super handy for keeping track of performance and managing resources more efficiently. The only thing that left me a bit frustrated was the lack of flexibility with control panels.

Hostinger’s shared hosting now only comes with hPanel – you can’t choose cPanel anymore unless you’re an existing user from before the switch. That said, we’ve tested hPanel extensively in our full Hostinger review, and it’s one of the more intuitive dashboards I’ve used.

2. IONOS – cheapest introductory price

Rating:
4.6
Pricing:$1.00/month

Renewal:$14.00/month
Free domain:✅ Yes
Free SSL:✅ Yes
Free website migration:✅ Yes
Customer support:24/7 live chat, phone, knowledge base
Best deal:Get up to 94% OFF IONOS

IONOS is my pick for the cheapest hosting provider on this list, mostly because of the price. Starting at just $1.00/month, I honestly didn’t expect much. But I was wrong – it’s insanely affordable without feeling stripped down or limited.

IONOS hosting pricing

  • Plus plan starts at $1.00/month and renews at $14.00/month. It includes support for unlimited websites, unlimited storage, unlimited databases, a free domain for 1 year, free SSL, professional email, daily backups, and enhanced CPU and MEM resources.
  • Essential plan starts at $4.00/month and renews at $8.00/month. It includes 10GB storage, 10 databases, a free domain for 1 year, a free SSL, daily backups, and professional email. The plan supports only 1 website.
  • Starter plan starts at $6.00/month and renews at $10.00/month. It includes everything the Essential plan does but offers more resources – 100GB storage, 50 databases, and supports up to 50 websites.
Best value plan

I recommend the Plus plan, starting at $1.00/month and renewing at $14.00/month, for the best savings, and to get the most out of IONOS hosting. With unlimited resources like websites, visitors, and storage, you can do so much with your hosting plan – and for such a low price.

Get IONOS

🤔 Does IONOS have any hidden costs?

During the purchase process, I did notice that IONOS pushes several upsells, such as SiteLock, its security suite, and an extended mail option. Personally, I didn’t find these additional offers particularly useful in my case, and you can skip them if you just want basic hosting. Overall, I didn’t see any hidden costs after purchasing an IONOS plan.

📊 IONOS performance testing

I used several tools for performance testing, including k6 for stress tests and webpagetest.org for speed checks. For a month, I monitored uptime, server response time, speed, and how IONOS handled traffic spikes.

IONOS maintained a 100% uptime, higher than the promised 99.99%, but the response time averaged 853.40ms, which is slower than the market average.

IONOS uptime testing results

When running a speed test on a WordPress site, the speed index was 2.38s – within the 0–3.4s range for good speed, meaning IONOS is still a fast host.

IONOS speed test results
IONOS speed testing results

During stress testing with 50 virtual users, IONOS struggled to keep up, with response times rising and the site slowing down. There were also quite a lot of HTTPS failures – 237. While IONOS is relatively reliable in other regards, high-traffic websites would benefit from a different host, like Hostinger or WordPress.com.

My overall experience with IONOS – very good ⭐⭐⭐⭐

IONOS was relatively easy to use. I had WordPress up and running on my server in just a few clicks – no fuss, no confusion. I also liked that it offers many additional features and add-ons, such as website protection and automated backups. What really stood out to me, though, was how IONOS features – from domains to security tools – were laid out on the left side of the control panel. It made managing things feel much more streamlined.

IONOS control panel
IONOS control panel

However, I found that the custom control panel isn’t as user-friendly as cPanel. I also had a somewhat inconsistent experience with customer support. Nevertheless, the performance was decent, with fast loading times. Plus, unlimited bandwidth was a huge bonus – no worrying about traffic spikes or hitting a data cap.

3. WordPress.com –cheap zero-setup WordPress host

WordPress.com is a fully managed host for WordPress websites, built by the WordPress CMS creators. Besides being one of the most affordable hosting options, with prices starting at $2.75/month, WordPress hosting offers a zero-setup hosting solution: you only buy the plan, and the hosting, security, and performance are managed automatically by WordPress.

WordPress.com hosting pricing

  • Personal plan starts at $2.75/month and renews at $3.50/month. The plan includes 6GB storage, free custom domain for the 1st year, unlimited page website, some premium themes, stats, and ad-free browsing for visitors.
  • Premium plan starts at $5.50/month and renews at $6.33/month. The plan includes 13GB storage and everything in the Personal plan plus premium stats, all premium themes, Google Analytics, and video uploads.
  • Business plan costs $17.50/month and renews at $19.00/month. The plan includes everything in Premium plus priority support and SFTP/SSH, WP-CLI, Git commands, and GitHub Deployments.
Best value plan

For the best hosting experience, I recommend the Premium plan, starting at $5.50/month. It includes everything in the Personal plan and some more advanced features like premium stats and themes, but doesn’t have the steep cost of Business. Premium thus strikes the perfect balance between more advanced hosting and affordability.

Get WordPress Hosting

🤔 Does WordPress.com have any hidden costs?

WordPress.com is generally clear about its pricing, but there are a few things to keep in mind. The biggest one is that the free domain is only included for the first year, so you’ll need to pay for renewal later. Also, some key features like plugin installation, advanced customization, and eCommerce tools are locked behind higher-tier plans. If you start with a lower plan, you may need to upgrade sooner than expected, depending on your needs.

📊 WordPress.com performance testing

The Cybernews research team and I tested WordPress.com’s uptime and response time with the Grafana Labs observability platform. Over a 2-week period, the host had a 100% uptime with an average response time of only 54.16ms. These are excellent results, showing that WordPress.com is a reliable host.

wordpress uptime 1
WordPress.com delivered a stable 100% uptime

The page load speed tests also showed great results. The WordPress.com’s speed index was just 0.592s – well within the 0–3.4s range for good site load speed.

wordpress page speed
WordPress.com's Speed Index: 0.592 seconds

The stress testing results were also really good. WordPress.com handled 50 virtual users with no HTTPS failures, with the average request rate of 48 requests per second, and the P95 response time being just 6ms. This is the best stress testing result on this list, making WordPress one of the best hosts for high-traffic websites.

wordpress stress
WordPress.com stress-testing showed strong consistency

My overall experience with WordPress.com – excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Getting started with WordPress has been one of the smoothest hosting experiences – I liked that there was no setting up required, and the onboarding overall took just a few minutes. This is the advantage of fully managed hosting – you don’t need to fiddle with security or other settings, and can just go straight to building your website. Plus, if any errors arise, WordPress deals with them automatically, which I appreciate as a busy person.

wordpress dashboard new
Creating and managing a site with WordPress.com felt smooth from start to finish

On the other hand, some users who like a more hands-on management approach might find WordPress a bit rigid. If you prefer setting up and customizing settings to your preference, there’s not much opportunity for that with WordPress. A potential flexibility solution is using plugins, but it still doesn’t compare to self-managed hosting like Hostinger or IONOS.

4. Bluehost – beginner-friendly affordable hosting solution

Bluehost is an affordable solution focused on beginner-friendly web hosting. It starts at just $1.99/month, and honestly, it feels built for beginners. The website builder made things super easy for me – no guesswork, no overwhelm.

Bluehost hosting pricing

  • Single site plan is available from $1.99/month, with a renewal rate of $8.99/month. It includes space for 1 website, 1GB NVMe storage, free CDN, free SSL, site migration, a free domain for the first year, and 10K visits per month. There’s also a Pro Email free trial and AI Site Creation Tools.
  • Starter plan starts at $5.99/month and renews at $9.99/month. In addition to what the Starter plan offers, it includes malware detection and removal, domain privacy, and supports up to 50 websites.
  • eCommerce Essentials starts at $2.99/month and renews at $6.99/month. This plan comes equipped with support for up to 100 websites, 100GB NVMe storage, and up to 400K visits per month. The plan includes everything in the Starter plan, plus eCommerce tools, including but not limited to secure payment processing, WooCommerce auto-install, product subscriptions, and easy social logins.

🤔 Does Bluehost have any hidden costs?

While Bluehost tends to be transparent with its pricing, being attentive at the checkout is a good idea. If you purchase the Starter or Business plan, it tries to push some additional services, such as professional email and SiteLock Essentials. Fortunately, you can skip these services if all you want is basic hosting.

📊 Bluehost performance testing

Over 30 days of testing, Bluehost maintained a solid 100% uptime. While it doesn’t have a formal uptime guarantee like some competitors, real-world reliability was impressive. I experienced very few interruptions during this period.

Bluehost uptime testing results

I also checked Bluehost’s speed with a fully built WordPress site. The speed index in the US was 1.96 seconds – that’s a really good result for loading speed, especially for American visitors.

Bluehost speed test results
Bluehost page load speed indicated by Speed Index

Finally, I stress-tested Bluehost with 50 virtual users at once. The server stayed consistent. However, the average request rate was 19 RPS, and the 95th percentile response time was 2007ms. This result indicates issues with handling a lot of visitors and significantly decreased page load time.

While testing Bluehost, I was really impressed by how intuitive the control panel felt. All essential tools are right there, making it very easy to set up a website with just a few clicks.

Advanced features like custom SSL or detailed website metrics can be managed through cPanel. Also, I found Bluehost to be a great option for hosting WordPress sites. As mentioned in our Bluehost review, its AI website builder is similar to Hostinger's, simplifying the site creation process and making it beginner-friendly.

5. SiteGround – high-performance and additional features

SiteGround is one of the cheapest options on my list that combines high performance with a broad array of features. Prices start at $2.99/month, and the cheapest package includes the SiteGround Website Builder and a number of useful extras, especially for WordPress users. Combined with a rich set of core web hosting features, SiteGround’s StartUp offer is a worthy contender.

  • StartUp plan starts at $2.99/month, with a renewal price of $17.99/month. It includes space for 1 website, 10GB Google storage, free SSL, daily backups, enhanced security, AI content generation, an AI agent for WordPress, built-in SEO, free email, and a free domain for a year.
  • GrowBig plan starts at $4.99/month, with a renewal price of $29.99/month. In addition to the features available with StartUp, this plan includes unlimited websites and traffic, 50GB storage, staging, on-demand backups, and a 30% faster PHP.

🤔 Does SiteGround have any hidden costs?

SiteGround is very detailed in its description of price plans. Each feature presented on the website has a pop-up explaining the finer details of the offer in a straightforward way. I haven’t noticed any issues with transparency. You shouldn’t have problems understanding what you’re getting with each plan or encounter unexpected pricing surprises.

📊 SiteGround performance testing

SiteGround achieved impressive results in every test I’ve thrown at it. It delivered 100% uptime and 99.94% reachability, allowing users to access the site freely. The average server response was 1.03s, which is a fairly decent result.

My overall experience with SiteGround – very good ⭐⭐⭐⭐

SiteGround’s impressive feature list justifies a higher starting and renewal price for its cheapest plan when compared to some other providers. Throughout my time testing the service, I had a smooth and carefree experience, largely due to its impressive performance even under heavy load. However, if all you are interested in is effective hosting without the additional features, there are cheaper options on this list.

6. DreamHost – web hosting for beginners

DreamHost is perfect for beginners or anyone building something simple, like a personal blog or a portfolio site. Its WordPress-focused AI builder makes the whole setup feel effortless – I had a basic site live in minutes. And while it’s not packed with flashy extras, the performance was solid and reliable enough to keep everything running smoothly.

DreamHost hosting pricing

  • Web Hosting Launch plan starts at $1.99/month and renews at $7.99/month. It includes 25GB NVMe storage, free SSL, a free domain for 1 year, daily automated backups, 20 free mailboxes for 3 months, 25 databases, and supports up to 25 websites with up to 40k monthly visits.
  • Web Hosting Growth plan starts at $3.49/month and renews at $8.99/month. In addition to features from the Web Hosting Launch plan, it includes space for 50 websites, 50GB NVMe storage, 200K monthly visits, free DreamShield Scan, 50 databases, 40 free mailboxes for 3 months, and 50 subdomains.
  • Web Hosting Scale plan starts at $7.99/month and renews at $19.99/month. Compared to lower-tier plans, it includes the most resources: 100 websites, 100GB NVMe storage, 400K visits, 100 subdomains, and 300 databases.

🤔 Does DreamHost have any hidden costs?

When trying to purchase DreamHost hosting services, I’ve noticed that it tries to sneak in additional services like DreamShield Protect and DreamHost Email into my cart. Make sure to double-check your cart before proceeding to payment and unselect any services you don’t want. Other than that, I found DreamHost upfront about pricing. Also, it clearly informs about an increase in price upon renewal.

📊 DreamHost performance testing

DreamHost stands out by offering a 100% uptime guarantee. During a full month of testing, it delivered exactly that – 100% uptime and 91.33% reachability, meaning the site wasn’t available for visitors almost 9% of the time. The average server response time was 1.80s, which is below industry standard.

DreamHost uptime test results
DreamHost uptime and response time

When checking website speed, DreamHost also performed well. The average speed index was 1.465 seconds, which beats Google’s 0–3.4s recommended range. While not the absolute fastest, it’s still a strong result for a budget host.

DreamHost speed testing results
DreamHost speed test results

For stress testing, I sent 50 virtual users to the site for five minutes. DreamHost was able to handle 2854 requests without failure. On average, it processed about 9 requests. However, most requests were very slow with a P95 response time of 17,557ms. This means that DreamHost is able to endure heavy traffic, but due to slow response time, the user experience may suffer.

My overall experience with DreamHost – good ⭐⭐⭐

DreamHost impressed me as a versatile hosting solution, ideal for eCommerce, blogs, or portfolio sites. Its feature-rich control panel is easy to navigate, making it a good fit for both beginners and experienced users.

DreamHost dashboard

However, DreamHost doesn’t have cPanel and uses its own custom panel, which was tested for our DreamHost review. It took me some time to adjust since I had previously used a host with a standard control panel. That said, I actually preferred how DreamHost handles custom SSL compared to Bluehost. Some of the features that I particularly enjoyed were the one-click WordPress installation and the AI Business Advisor.

🤔 Does hosting.com have any hidden costs?

No, hosting.com doesn’t sneak in hidden fees. From what I saw, the pricing is pretty straightforward. The only thing to watch for is the high renewal rates – some plans jump quite a bit after the first term. But to be fair, those prices are clearly shown at checkout, so you won’t be caught off guard.

📊 Hosting.com performance testing

Over two weeks of monitoring, hosting.com delivered a flawless 100% uptime. The average server response time was 1.60s, which is a bit slower than the industry average of 600ms.

I was also pleased to see that the provider excels in security. The security features are easy to find and manage right from the dashboard, which we tested in our hosting.com review. HostGator is a solid pick if you want budget hosting with a strong security infrastructure, starting at just $3.75/month. What stood out to me was the built-in SiteLock protection – a feature often locked behind higher-tier plans with other providers. If you’re running a site that’s more exposed to risks, such as a blog with an open comment section, HostGator is worth your consideration.

HostGator hosting pricing

  • Hatchling Plan starts at $3.75/month and renews at $10.99/month. It includes 10 websites, 40K visits per month, 10GB storage, a free site migration tool, email marketing, a free domain for the first year, free CDN, DDoS protection, and a web application firewall.

🤔 Does HostGator have any hidden costs?

In my experience, HostGator doesn’t have hidden fees – no surprise charges on your bill. That said, just like hosting.com, its renewal prices increase quite a bit. The good news is that they’re clearly stated at checkout, so you’ll know exactly what you’re signing up for.

📊 HostGator performance testing

When testing HostGator, I found the WordPress setup process quick and easy. I installed the CMS and set up all plugins in just a few clicks. I was also particularly impressed with the security suite, which we covered in our HostGator review. HostGator offers a range of security features through SiteLock, helping to protect your website against all sorts of threats. Another feature I appreciated was the custom name server configuration. However, I found it slightly inconvenient that many configuration options require switching to cPanel from the main dashboard. Hostinger and IONOS are more convenient in that sense.

If you’re after a cheap VPS server, InterServer is the one I’d go for. While its shared hosting didn’t blow me away, the VPS plans are where it really shines. You get flexible, powerful servers that can handle way more than just basic websites, with prices starting at just $3.00/month.

InterServer VPS hosting pricing

  • Private email hosting starts at $2.50/month for the first month and keeps the same price upon renewal. The plan includes Outlook, webmail and mobile access, 25GB mailboxes, unlimited aliases and forwarding, and email archiving and file storage.
  • VPS special starts at $3.00/month for the first month and keeps the same price upon renewal. The plan includes 2GB RAM, 30GB storage, multiple operating systems, cPanel or Direct Admin, and unlimited support.

🤔 Does InterServer have any hidden costs?

InterServer generally doesn’t have any hidden costs. On the other hand, some additional features, such as extra IP addresses or control panel licenses (cPanel, DirectAdmin), cost extra, which can add up a bit at the end of the day.

📊 InterServer performance testing

InterServer uses Cloudflare’s global network to keep websites online and stable. During testing, uptime was perfect at 100%. There were no outages, and the site stayed reachable the whole time.

As for speed, the speed index was 0.423s – well within Google's acceptable range of 0–3.4s.

Stress testing also showed better results than the last time. InterServer handled all 50 users with no failures, with an average response time of just 9ms, which is an exceptional result. This shows that InterServer is a truly reliable provider for high-traffic sites and projects.

My overall experience with InterServer – good ⭐⭐⭐

As noted in our InterServer review, the dashboard is very feature-rich. Many advanced tools are built right into it, so I rarely had to switch over to cPanel, which made everything feel more streamlined. I also liked the inclusion of DirectAdmin, as it was a nice change from the usual cPanel most hosting providers rely on.

What’s more, I appreciated features that help with setup, such as the Rapid Deploy Servers. It offers faster configuration than traditional dedicated servers. However, some features require separate purchases, which can add up quickly. I also noticed that on cheaper plans, the dashboard felt a bit empty.

Cheap web hosting ranking methodology

At Cybernews, we follow a clear methodology to thoroughly test web hosts. To create this list of the best cheap hosting providers, I started by evaluating 58 options based on pricing and performance. From there, I narrowed it down to 9 providers and tested them further using the following criteria:

  1. Price-to-quality ratio (25%). I reviewed the pricing for the most popular hosting types, including WordPress and shared hosting. I also considered the costs for VPS and dedicated plans. I assessed the value for money, considering whether the provider includes features like a domain name or SSL certificate in its pricing.
  2. Ease of use (20%). I evaluated how user-friendly each provider is, taking both beginners and advanced users into account. This includes testing how simple it is to set up a website and how intuitive the interface feels.
  3. Performance (20%). I conducted extensive tests on each provider's speed, uptime, and ability to handle increased traffic. For this, I used tools like k6 and webpagetest.org to gather comprehensive data.
  4. Features (15%). I assessed the range of features offered, including storage space, email accounts, the number of websites, CDN, and whether the provider offers a website builder.
  5. Renewal pricing (10%). I took into account not only the starting price but also each provider’s renewal rate to ensure transparency, so you know what you can expect after the introductory rates are no longer available.
  6. Security (10%). I considered all relevant security features, such as SSL certificates, DDoS protection, malware defense, firewalls, and backup options.

After completing these tests and evaluations, I ranked each provider from 1 to 8 based on its overall performance in each category. This allowed me to give you well-rounded recommendations.

How much does cheap web hosting typically cost?

As of April 2026, cheap web hosting usually ranges between $1.00/month and $4.00/month. Most of these plans are shared hosting, which is the most affordable option. Here’s a closer look at the different types of hosting you can find:

  • Shared hosting is the cheapest option, typically priced between $1.00/month and $4.00/month
  • VPS hosting offers allocated resources and better performance, with pricing ranging from $3.00/month to $13.00/month
  • Dedicated hosting allows full server control and personal resources but is often the most expensive hosting option, costing anywhere from $40.00/month to $165.00/month

Web hosting price depends on the hosting type, features, and resources you need. To save more, look out for discounts during sales events like Black Friday or other holidays.

How I find the cheapest web hosting deals

After years of testing web hosts, I’ve learned that “cheap” web hosting can get unexpectedly pricey. The real trick is finding a deal that stays affordable even after the intro rates disappear. Here’s how I do it:

  1. I always check renewal prices – not just the intro offer. Those $2.99/month plans look tempting, but after the first term, they often jump to $9.00 or even $12.00/month. I make sure to add up the three-year cost so I know the real price.
  2. I go for the longest plan upfront. If you’re willing to commit for 36 months, you usually get the best price possible. Paying more today means you save more in the long run if you’re serious about your site.
  3. I never miss promos and coupon codes. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and other seasonal sales can slash prices by up to 80%. I actually set reminders for these events and always hunt for the best deals. You can check this Hostinger coupon page for the best deals of the month.
  4. I move my site when renewals go up. When my hosting renewal jumps, I just transfer my website to another host with a better intro price. Most providers make this easy with free migration or simple tools, so it’s not nearly as intimidating as it sounds.
  5. I look closely at what’s included for free. Some hosts will throw in SSL, backups, and domain privacy – others will charge extra for these. Free features like these can save me $50 to $100 a year, so sometimes the “cheapest” host really isn’t the cheapest after all.

Bottom line: To get truly cheap web hosting, I always consider the total package, not just the lowest starting price. By planning ahead for renewals, taking advantage of promos, and staying flexible, I keep my costs low and avoid unpleasant surprises.
