“I thought I was crazy:” Is your iPhone making a noise?

It’s been over three months since the release of Apple’s latest smartphone, but users aren’t done noticing its flaws.

Some Apple smartphone users report that their devices make a static noise that appears when they’re charging.

Users say that the hissing sound comes from the speakers. While the sound isn’t too loud and can usually only be heard in a silent room, more iPhone users are noticing the problem.

It seems that the affected smartphones are the company’s latest devices, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.

What noises do the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max make?

While some iPhone owners notice a strange sound coming from their device while charging, others also hear it while playing audio and lowering the volume, and some even hear it when audio isn’t on.

Additionally, some report hearing the sound while just scrolling through the device.

The issue has sparked a discussion online via Reddit, and the same problem has been discussed on the Apple Community since September, when the iPhone 17 series was released.

“I thought I was crazy!” wrote one user on Reddit.

“Have had this since launch, just been living with it,” shared another iPhone owner.

How can the noise issue be resolved?

For users who hear the sound while the phone is charging, the issue seems to resolve itself when the device is unplugged.

However, owners of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max raised questions about why this issue, which caused some of its owners to replace their devices, arose in the first place.

One Redditor shared that they had tried “multiple charger bricks, cords, outlets, and multiple buildings.” After this, they brought their smartphone to Apple, which resulted in the company providing a replacement.

While Apple didn’t provide an official explanation for the issue, it has been reported that one way to fix it is by updating the iPhone’s software.

However, the current iOS doesn’t seem to solve the issue, notes MacRumors.

Once the iPhone 17 series smartphones were released, several new owners reported receiving devices that were already scratched.

Soon after that, the owners of the iPhone 17 lineup began complaining about connectivity issues, including being cut off from their WiFi.

The new smartphone has also been under scrutiny for design flaws. Some users shared images where their “Cosmic Orange” iPhone turned pink.
