The company then continued with the Mac Mini, which underwent its biggest redesign in 14 years and is now equipped with Apple’s latest M4 chip.

Together with the announcement of the MacBook Pro, the company also shared that the new laptops will be powered with M4 chips.

The latest Apple M4 chip lineup includes the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max, which were created to increase a device’s efficiency and speed.

According to the company, the new chips have central processing units (CPUs), including the world’s fastest CPU core.

The M4 Pro chip features a CPU with up to 14 cores and a GPU with up to 20 cores for graphics performance, while the M4 Max has a CPU with up to 16 cores and a GPU with up to 40 cores for performance.

When it comes to the question of what comes next, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expects that in the future, Apple should release an M4 Ultra chip that can support up to a 32-core CPU and up to an 80-core GPU, making it “the most powerful mainstream computer systems the market has ever seen.”

It was previously reported that the M4 Ultra chip would be available with the new Mac Studio, which should be released between March and June 2025.
