Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold is here: price, availability, and specs revealed

The company has unveiled its first trifold with folding technology that alerts you when the device is not closed correctly.
Samsung has finally added a trifold to its Galaxy family by releasing the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold.
While it isn’t the company’s first foldable, it is its first trifold. Despite Samsung having already revealed the device, those interested in renewing their smartphones will have to wait.
In Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold will be available for purchase on December 12th, followed by other countries such as China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE, according to the company.
It also revealed that consumers in the US will have to wait until the beginning of next year for the new device, with more information to be shared later.
The smartphone is priced at 3.59 million won ($2,440.17).
What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold?
While it’s the company’s first trifold, Samsung is already known in the foldable device game with its Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
When it comes to smartphone design, the company shares that the new smartphone features a folding mechanism designed to open and close the device easily, while also protecting the main display.
It also includes an “auto-alarm” that warns a user of “incorrect folding through a series of on-screen alerts and vibrations.”
The Galaxy Z TriFold specifications reveal that the device is 3.9 mm at its thinnest with a 10-inch display when unfolded.
The trifold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform processor and includes a 200MP camera.
The company revealed that it also includes the largest battery one of its foldable smartphones has ever had – a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery system, which is integrated into all three panels of the trifold, allowing users to use the device throughout the day.
The company also boasts the device’s 10-inch display, designed to allow users to multitask across multiple open tabs on different screens, utilize AI, watch content, and more.
What will Samsung bring in 2026?
According to the company, the Galaxy Z TriFold should reach the US in the first quarter of 2026.
Next year also marks the release of the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup, which may be released at the beginning of 2026, too, with speculations leaning towards the end of January and the beginning of February.
This year, the company unveiled its Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones at the end of January, during its annual Samsung Unpacked event, with its Galaxy S25 Edge model being released in May.
By launching its first trifold, the company entered the competition with Huawei, which had become the first company to release a trifold smartphone last year.
It remains a question how the foldable smartphone market will change once Apple enters the race.
