Rockstar Games is attempting to prevent users from creating Charlie Kirk-themed missions in Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online.
An X user posted what seems to be a user-generated mission in GTA Online.
The mission features a college campus and a sniper on top of a roof opposite a stand where a university speaker is giving a lecture.
In the viral video, which received over seven million views on X, the sniper aims and shoots, killing the university speaker and completing the mission.
This side quest, titled “We are Charlie Kirk,” is almost an exact copy of the events that occurred at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
Right-wing political commentator and podcaster Charlie Kirk was shot dead while attending an event at a college in Utah last year.
This event sparked various online trends, viral songs, and a barrage of memes relating to Kirk’s death.
However, Rockstar Games perhaps didn’t anticipate that a multitude of people would use their GTA solo mission creator tool to recreate Kirk’s assassination.

To combat the Charlie Kirk assassination missions, the game developer has allegedly added the far-right commentator's name to its profanity list.
While Kotaku, which first reported the story, couldn’t independently verify the X user's claims, journalists at Kotaku said that when they tried to type “Charlie Kirk” on the GTA Online official custom jobs site, they were greeted by an error message.
This also reportedly occurs when gamers type in slurs and other vulgarities on the custom job site.
Users have managed to get around the alleged ban by using either the former political commentator's first or last name.
Players also seem to be using the name “Charlie Pink” or combining his first and last names together, making it harder for Rockstar to find and delete these missions.
