Over the past three months, Nintendo earned nearly ¥1.1 trillion in revenue from selling Switch 1 and 2 gaming consoles combined, which is equivalent to approximately €6.2 billion. Gross profit increased alongside the increase in net sales, rising 25.3% year-on-year to ¥398.4 billion, or nearly €2.3 billion.

With over 9.57 million units sold, Mario Kart World, the game that was released at the same time as the Nintendo Switch 2, is currently the most popular title of Nintendo’s handheld console. Donkey Kong Bananza, which was released in July, has shown a lot of promise as well, with over 3.49 million units sold.

Combined with titles released by other software publishers, unit sales for Nintendo Switch 2 software for the first half of the fiscal year were 20.62 million. Digital sales for the first half of the fiscal year decreased by 2.8% year-on-year to ¥155.5 billion, or roughly €882.5 million.

Although sales of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles have declined somewhat since its release, Nintendo is still raising its expectations for total sales. The company initially expected to sell 15 million Nintendo Switch 2 consoles in the first year, but that figure has now been revised to 19 million.
