
Facebook and Instagram users are complaining of widespread outages on Meta platforms, which is preventing them from viewing comments or logging in.
Users of the Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram have reported outages that started around 9 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday.
The disruptions predominantly affect users’ ability to log in to Facebook and to view comments on Instagram.
On Downdetector, a platform where users can report outages, hundreds of people in the US reported problems with Facebook, while thousands reported problems with Instagram.
Instagram users flocked to X to confirm the outage.
One user said, “Every time I think Instagram is down, I come here expeditiously.”

Many other users complained that Instagram is “down right now” and that they can’t access their Facebook accounts either.
Similarly, on Downdetector, users from across the US and UK are complaining that the Instagram comments section isn’t loading.
While others are expressing their frustrations over Facebook disruptions, stating that Facebook is down in various states across the US.
It’s unclear when Facebook and Instagram will be working again, as no official announcements have been made regarding the outage at the time of writing.
