Ryanair CEO claims Musk called him a "retarded twat" during press conference

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary held a press conference to “undress” Elon Musk’s “Twitter tantrum” after a recent feud between the two CEOs went viral online.

Michael O'Leary, the chief executive of budget airline Ryanair, doubled down on his criticism of Tesla founder Elon Musk – who also owns X, formerly known as Twitter – during a press conference in Dublin today. The two have sparred over equipping Ryanair planes with Starlink internet services.

During the press conference, O’Leary claims Musk called him an “idiot” and a “retarded twat” to which the Ryanair CEO responded by saying that Musk would “have to join the back of a very, very long queue of people who already think I’m a retarded twat, including my four teenage children.”

It seems that Musk actually called O'Leary a "special needs chimp" instead of a "retarded twat."

O’Leary also said during the conference that Ryanair will be heading to the X offices in Dublin to give Musk “a free ticket” to “thank him for the wonderful boost in publicity.”

“Thank you to Mr Musk,” O’Leary states as he mentions that ticket sales for Ryanair flights have gone up by two to three percent in the past days.

O'Leary vs Musk: Twitter/X beef explained

“Don’t thank us, thank that big IDIOT,” reads the latest post from Ryanair.

The post announces Ryanair’s “big idiot seat sale,” which is “only available for Elon Musk and other ‘idiots’ on X.” This comes after O’Leary said that no one should pay attention to the X CEO because “he’s an idiot.”

O’Leary made his comments in response to Musk calling him “misinformed” on his social media platform X after Ryanair ruled out the idea of equipping its planes with the billionaire's Starlink satellite internet.

The budget airline CEO said it would be too expensive, due to the impact of fuel costs from drag caused by antennas and the short lengths of Ryanair flights.

The social media spat continued, with Ryanair provoking Musk by asking him if he needed some WiFi following a widespread X outage.

Musk responded, suggesting he buy Ryanair and put someone who's actually called Ryan in charge.

Ryanair even responded to a completely random user's post, which asked a question unrelated to the feud.

“What propaganda are you not falling for?” the random X user posted.

The budget airline said “WiFi on planes.”
