US and UK to accuse China of targeting companies, citizens

American and British lawmakers will point fingers at Beijing over a massive espionage campaign targeting companies and exposing millions of citizens' data.

The Biden administration is set to accuse Chinese hackers who work on behalf of China's civilian intelligence service of targeting US companies in a sweeping espionage campaign, CNN reported on Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Meanwhile, the UK is expected to reveal that China was behind the cyberattack on the UK’s Electoral Commission, exposing 40 million British voters. The total population of the UK is 67.3 million.
