Microsoft has announced that it's changing the pricing for its Xbox Game Pass.

Instead of following the common practice of increasing its service prices, the company is reducing the price of its Game Passes.

Now, the $30 Game Pass Ultimate will cost $23 a month, while PC Game Pass will be priced at $14, down from $16.50.

The company has also introduced some changes to its game releases.

“Beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won’t join Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch,” writes Microsoft.

Instead, users will have to buy it separately.

The new Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass approximately a year after their release. The company also noted that the current Call of Duty games will remain available in the Xbox library.

According to Microsoft, these changes are in response to user feedback.

The new Call of Duty game is expected to come out in the autumn of 2026.

The company didn’t explain why it will no longer add new Call of Duty titles to Game Pass.

Considering that it’s one of the best-selling games, with more than 500 million copies sold, the reason for this change could be the company’s goal to maximize sales.

The Microsoft change comes not long after Sony announced that it’s increasing the prices of its PlayStation gaming consoles.

This decision has affected the pricing of PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player.

This change, which Sony justified as necessary to ensure users have a high-quality gaming experience, drew some backlash online, since the price hike was applied to devices released a while ago.
