These 3 VPNs all work well enough in Malaysia. I tested all of them and came away with no serious complaints. But when I stacked them against NordVPN, Surfshark, and Proton VPN, each one had at least one area where it fell short. Here is why they did not make the cut.

IPVanish

IPVanish is a solid VPN for Malaysia. It has physical servers in the country, delivers reliable speeds for streaming and browsing, and its no-logs policy has been independently verified. The headline feature is unlimited simultaneous connections, which means you can protect every device in your household on one subscription.

The reason it did not make our top 3 comes down to one simple comparison: Surfshark offers the same unlimited connections, and came out faster in my speed tests. There is no meaningful reason to choose IPVanish over Surfshark for Malaysia unless you have a specific preference for its interface, or want to save just a few cents a month.
