Apple’s fall lineup isn’t over yet. With annual iPhone releases in September, might October be known as the month of new Macs and iPads? Rumours are hinting at M5 chips, faster CPUs, and better graphics.
Fall is an important time for Apple product enthusiasts. At the beginning of September, the company announced its latest iPhone 17 series as well as Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple AirPods Pro 3.
However, the “Awe Dropping” event, dedicated to the latest iPhone launch, didn’t include news about other popular Apple products, such as its Mac computers.
When will Apple launch new Macs?
Previous years have shown that Apple tends to separate the launch of its new smartphones and computers, with the latter usually being introduced at the end of October.
However, last year, the company didn’t hold a special event to introduce its latest computers. Instead, it released the news about the hardware through several press releases.
Last October, the company released MacBook Pros, Mac minis, and iMacs with new M4 chips and upgraded the RAM from the 8GB base version to 16GB.
MacBook Air models didn’t include the chip upgrade, but were released with larger base memory, upgrading from 8GB of RAM to 16GB.
What will the new Apple Macs be like?
Speculation about Apple’s new computers suggests that the devices may be equipped with the M5 chip.
One Reddit user shared a possible list of Apple products that may include the latest chip. Among these are MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and MacBook Air, with the MacBook Air getting the M5 chip in 2026.

However, some users weren’t too happy about the company “quickly churning out hardware these days.”
This started a debate, with another user noting that it’s “purely a good thing that they’re selling the best hardware they can make at any given time.”
Cult of Mac previously reported that it’s also unclear whether the company will release MacBook Pros with the M5 chip this year.
Nevertheless, that could still change, since Apple’s MacBook Pro received the same FCC approval as the latest iPad Pro, which is speculated to be released this October.
Apple’s future chip is expected to boast a better artificial intelligence performance, a 34% increase in graphics performance, and a 16% faster CPU, according to Cult of Mac.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, and his post on X recently fueled speculation.
“Mmmmm… something powerful is coming,” reads the caption of a short video showing a partially opened Mac.
The video also states that the new device is “coming soon,” without any further hint whether that could be this month.
When will Apple launch its latest iPads?
It seems that the next-generation iPad Pro, which will also have an M5 chip, will be one of the main stars of Apple’s October device launch.
The future iPad will increase the number of Apple devices that support iOS 26, since the company has extended the list of older iPads that won’t support Apple’s latest software update.
What other products may the company add to its October release? Apple still hasn’t announced the launch of its upgraded Vision Pro, Air Tag2, and Apple TV, perhaps saving it for the release scheduled this month.
