Essentially, the web performance was evaluated based on responsiveness and page load speed.

Speedometer 3.0 is a browser benchmark that tests how web applications perform and respond across different browsers. The project was created by Apple, Google, and Mozilla, with contributions from other tech giants, such as Microsoft.

The company also used another benchmark, called LoadLine. Google created this tool to measure web performance by focusing on mobile website loading speeds and how quickly they open when a user clicks on them.

The results shared by Google show that, according to the Speedometer benchmark, Android-powered smartphones outperform the “competing mobile phone platform” (which could be understood as iOS).

The LoadLine tool revealed that Android’s top-tier phones are now up to 47% faster than their non-Android competitors.

However, the speed difference might not be as significant as the benchmark suggests, according to Notebook Check.

The blog post indicates that newer Android flagship smartphones have improved their Speedometer and LoadLine scores by 20-60% year-over-year, when compared to older models.

But in reality, users can expect page loads to be 4-6% faster and daily-use interactions to be 6-9% smoother.
