Apple’s latest iOS update makes it easier to remove objects from images

It takes just one tap for Apple Intelligence to remove unwanted objects.

New Apple Intelligence features are coming with Apple's new developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and MacOS 15.1 Sequoia. One of which is the ability to remove objects from photos.

Clean Up is an editing tool that lets users select and remove an unwanted object from a photo. Once the item is removed, the AI-driven feature re-generates the background without affecting the image.

The user can easily remove an unwanted object by using the smart detection feature, which allows them to remove an object with one tap.

Apple’s AI-powered features began testing with the iOS 18.1 developers beta in July. These features included writing tools, message and email summaries, smart replies for Mail, memory creation in Photos, call and voice recording transcription, and more.

Apple recently confirmed the official date for the iPhone 16 release, during which more details on the new device and its operating system should be revealed.

Among speculations about Apple Intelligence is the possibility that the feature could come with a fee in the future.
