Your mum will surely love this new Tinder feature that lets other people pick your next date for you.
The new feature, called Tinder Matchmaking, will turn dating into a “team sport,” the world’s most popular romance app said.
It will allow users to share a unique link from their profile with up to 15 other people, who will then have 24 hours to play cupid and suggest potential matches.
The matchmakers do not need to have a Tinder account to take part in the game and will not be able to chat or send messages on the user’s behalf.
“For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now we're making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker," Tinder’s Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Hobley said.
According to a survey commissioned by Tinder, over 75% of singles are discussing their dating lifes with friends multiple times a month anyway.
“Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you," Hobley said.
The Tinder user will still make the final call, but profiles liked by their friends or family will now be marked as “recommendation,” while the rejected profiles won’t change.
Tinder Matchmaker is now available in the US and 14 other markets, including Brazil, France, Germany, India, Japan, and the UK, with more countries to follow in the coming months.
The new feature is part of the series of changes Tinder introduced this year, including an Incognito Mode, the blocking function, and a $499-a-month subscription plan.
