If you own a business, are a student, or simply enjoy creating images with artificial intelligence, the chances are that you’ve come across Designs AI. Even before the big AI awakening in 2023, the platform was making waves in the design community thanks to its user-friendly tools and extensive resource library.

What is Designs AI?

Designs AI is one of the best all-around platforms for AI content creation in 2025. It has been active since 2019, simplifying design and content creation for freelancers, agencies, and businesses.

The platform integrates a suite of innovative features, including AI Chat, which provides access to leading large language models like ChatGPT 3.5, ChatGPT 4, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and Gemini 1.5 Pro.

Beyond text generation, Designs AI excels thanks to its speech maker, video maker, and design maker features, enabling users to craft professional-quality designs with ease. With a vast library of over 20,000 templates, 200 voice styles, and 150 million media files, finding the perfect assets has never been easier.

Designs AI became a top name in the content creation space long before the AI craze began and has continued to stand out as a user-friendly platform suited for any type of design. While other tools tend to focus on specific design aspects, Designs AI offers a comprehensive solution for everyone. It’s ideal for small businesses, startups, and marketers who need quick, quality, and bulk designs without a steep learning curve.

Pros and cons of Designs AI

Designs AI Is a versatile AI design tool that you can use to design basically anything, from images to videos and voiceovers. However, like any platform, it has its strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons based on my testing.

Key features of Designs AI

When it comes to creating stunning designs, you need the right features and tools at your disposal. Designs AI offers a variety of innovative solutions that cater to various creative needs, so let’s take a closer look at them.

Logo maker

To put it plainly, I wasn’t impressed with Designs AI’s logo maker. The process begins with entering your business name and selecting your industry. After that, you choose the type of logo you want – be it an icon, a name, or initials. The platform then presents you with a selection of styles based on existing designs.

I played around with various concepts, but I only managed to produce something satisfactory when I opted for the icon option. Even then, the search feature doesn’t allow you to search for specific icons. While I do commend the range of choices, the results were mostly generic and lacked that unique touch that many businesses seek in their branding.

Video maker

The Designs AI video maker feature stands out as one of the best I’ve used in a while. For starters, it offers a variety of existing templates organized by categories, allowing you to kick-start any project with ease. You can also upload your own media or convert text into videos.

Another impressive aspect is the extensive selection of voiceovers. The platform supports over fifty male and female voices in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Dutch, French, Vietnamese, Hindi, Polish, and many more.

It took about 7 minutes to generate an 8-second video about a product, but the scenes matched my description, and the voiceover was clear and crisp. The editor is also nice and lets you edit individual scenes, subtitles, and more.

Speech maker

The Designs AI speech maker does exactly what it says – it converts your written words into speech. It currently supports 33 languages, complete with various accents and male and female voice options. However, you can only convert up to 1000 characters at a time, with basic users limited to 50,000 characters/month. Moreover, some custom voices require additional fees.

If you want the speech to be in a particular voice or conversational tone, you can use the AI Voice Changer. There’s even a Clone My Voice feature that lets you record and store your own voice for future speech-to-text tasks.

Design maker

The design maker is much better than the logo maker feature. It allows you to create a variety of designs, including Facebook ads, email headers, party invitations, business cards, and even simple quotes.

You can start from scratch by clicking Generate New or choose a template in your preferred category. The extensive customization options enable you to add text, animate elements, edit backgrounds, and incorporate various components like illustrations, frames, badges, and social media logos.

Brand kit

One aspect I appreciated with Designs AI was the comprehensive download package. You get your logo in major formats such as JPEG, PNG, and PDF, along with several variations, including a cover photo version, a color-inverted version, and a small icon for your website.

The package also includes a Branding Kit PDF that showcases your logo in various contexts like a building, billboard, book, and even a T-shirt. This allows you to really visualize your brand’s potential.

Designs AI pricing and plans

Basic Plan$29/month
Pro Plan$69/month
Enterprise Plan$199/month

Basic Plan: This plan costs $29/month and is ideal for those looking to make quick and personal projects. It offers 1000 AI credits/month and access to unlimited usage of the platform’s 150 million images and video clips.

You can use all large language models and features like AI audio, design, logo, and image maker. However, you’re limited to 1 voice clone slot, have no access to premium design templates, and can choose from only 10 voiceover types.

Also, if you’re interested in video features, this plan might not suit you. Namely, it only includes unlimited video generation without options to download draft videos, export storyboards in PDF, or access advanced video creation services.

Pro Plan: For $69/month, you’ll get access to the platform’s best features. You’ll receive 3000 AI credits and can collaborate with up to 3 team members on a project. The video maker also has more settings unlocked, allowing you to download draft videos and export storyboards.

You can also now convert up to 3000 characters to speech in one request and choose from 30 voiceover types. It’s a significant price increase from the Basic plan, but I believe you should consider it if you want more design freedom and collaborations.

Enterprise: Priced at $199/month, this plan is ideal for businesses with multiple team members who need to produce designs on a larger scale. It’s one of the most expensive plans I’ve come across on a design platform, but it really does give you access to everything on the site.

The plan includes 15,000 AI credits, 50 voiceover types, 30 voice clone spots, and advanced video creation services. You can also collaborate with up to 5 team members, and you’re allowed to contact customer support if you need more seats.

However, unless you really need multiple members working on a project, there’s truly no reason to go for this plan. The Pro plan offers many of the same features at a significantly lower cost.

Designs AI: user experience

One of the standout aspects of Designs AI is its clean and straightforward interface. Whether you’re creating a logo, editing a video, or generating a voiceover, the platform guides you through each step with ease. I particularly liked how you can use the search feature to locate any image or logo you want and the well-organized side menu that makes editing videos seamless.

Many users on Trustpilot have also commended the platform for its ease of use when creating designs. The majority were beginners who had no prior design experience but were able to cook up something decent for their small business. There were minor complaints about how long it took for videos to be generated and how certain scenes failed to match the descriptions.

However, the site's overall ratings are overwhelmingly poor, with over 50 users giving it an average score of just 1.5/5. More than 90% of the negative reviews cite issues with Designs AI not allowing users to remove their bank cards after the free trial. Many users have reported being charged months after requesting account closure and noted unresponsive customer support.

Users have mentioned instances of unsuccessful attempts to cancel their card without success before the end of the free trial. They were also unable to find where to delete their accounts and received no help from customer support. So, if you’re planning to use Designs AI long-term, it’s best to avoid entering your card details or, at the very least, use a disposable one.

  3. Create your project: For this guide, I will use the logo maker tool to design a logo for Tom’s Bakery. After clicking on the option from the Create menu, you’ll be asked to enter your company's name. Then, you’ll need to click Get Started. Create your project
  4. Customize your project: Now you have to choose your industry, and the Bakery, Cakes & Pastries option is perfect. You’ll then decide how you want your logo to be represented, whether as an icon, an initial, or just the company name. You also get to select up to five similar designs and the color tone that best reflects your brand. The final customization step involves selecting up to five designs from dozens of generated logos. 5. Finalize and download your design: Choose one and edit it to your liking. You can also change the color tone, fonts, or icons. When you’re done, click the Finish button, and a zipped file will be downloaded locally to your computer. It will contain the design in multiple formats and the branded kit PDF. Finalize your project

Designs AI alternatives

Designs AI is undoubtedly a powerhouse among AI-driven design tools – its versatility is hard to beat. However, choosing the right platform is a personal decision, and it’s always worth exploring your options to find the perfect fit for your creative needs. If you’re curious about how Designs AI stacks up against other tools, I have a curated short list of alternatives for you to consider.

  • Webflow is a powerful web design tool that combines design, CMS, and hosting into one platform. Unlike Designs AI, which focuses on general design creation, Webflow is tailored for building responsive websites without needing to code. Webflow’s pricing starts at $18/month for basic site plans, but its advanced features and hosting options can push costs higher. The platform is ideal for web designers and developers, but if you’re a marketer, freelancer, or small business owner, you’re better off sticking with Designs AI.
  • Framer is another web design tool that’s gaining popularity for its intuitive interface and prototyping capabilities. It’s a great option for designers who want to create interactive and high-fidelity prototypes. The real-time collaboration and interactive design features have made it a favorite among UI/UX designers, but it lacks the broader design capabilities like video creation or text-to-speech conversion that Designs AI offers.
  • Canva Magic Studio is where AI meets creativity, blending the beloved features of Canva with some exciting new tools. It offers features similar to Designs AI and arguably does it better. With options like Magic Media, Magic Write, and Magic Morph, you can transform texts into images, create videos in minutes, and explore a variety of voice styles across multiple languages. Even better, Magic Studio is free, but you will need to subscribe to Canva Pro and Teams to enjoy more features.

Final word on designs AI Review

After completing my Designs AI review, I can confidently say that it’s a powerful tool that suits almost any type of design you’re into. Its user-friendly interface, extensive template library, and multilingual support make it a standout choice for creating professional-quality designs quickly, though I wouldn’t trust it for logos.

The branded kit PDF with design downloads is also a nice touch, especially for those who love visualizing every aspect of their business. However, you might encounter issues when trying to cancel your subscription, and customer support will not be of any help. Keep this in mind before subscribing to any of the plans.
