The US District Court for the District of Columbia has announced its second sentence in the Bitfinex hack case. It sentenced Heather Morgan, 34 – also known as "Razzlekhan" and the "Crocodile of Wall Street" – to 18 months in prison, precisely as prosecutors recommended.
Morgan, along with her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, 35, who was sentenced last week to five years in prison, pleaded guilty last year.
According to a report by crypto news outlet Coindesk, Morgan said she's "extremely sorry and deeply regrets the choices" she made and used her time and energy "to do harm instead of good, and I’m ashamed of that."
However, Morgan appeared more enthusiastic about her future in a video posted on X on the day of her sentencing.
She mentioned regretting her absence from social media for a while (her last post was in September 2022), explaining that she had been battling her case in court and was following her lawyers’ advice to remain silent.
"Well, guess what, it's over. And I'm very excited that I will soon be telling my story, sharing my thoughts, and telling you about creative and other endeavors I've been working on," she said without offering specifics, adding “Razzle Dazzle!” in reference to her rapper persona.

Morgan’s last post on the platform in 2022 was about seeking remote work in B2B growth, marketing, sales, copywriting, and demand generation. She claimed to have “10 years of experience, including remotely managing distributed teams.”
Morgan is also known as rapper "Razzlekhan" (and she also dubbed herself the "Crocodile of Wall Street"):
As reported by Cybernews.com, according to court documents, Lichtenstein stole bitcoin (BTC) from the crypto exchange, and Morgan became involved later, assisting her husband in laundering the stolen funds.
The 119,754 BTC stolen were valued at $72 million at the time but are now worth nearly $11 billion. Law enforcement seized the majority of the funds – 94,643 BTC – which are expected to be returned to Bitfinex.
