5. Kamatera – managed reseller web host
| Features: | cPanel, free SSL, automated backups |
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Speed: | 187ms |
| Best for: | Managed reselling options |
Kamatera has some of the best reseller hosting services on the market. Aside from the flexibility that lets you scale your website, it has two reselling options: Buy & Sell Directly and Full White Label with API. This provider can be the most affordable one for starting your journey.
Interface. Kamatera comes with a straightforward management console and managed reseller services. This means you won’t need to deal with infrastructure setup costs and hardware maintenance. Even if you do, the full root access is effortless, helping you avoid any hassle.
Features: As Kamatera is a cloud-only host, it offers premium features that emphasize superior performance and security with its packages, such as firewalls and automated backups. However, some of its more unique features are the load balancers that instantly distribute workloads across a network of servers and the block storage technology that emulates a virtual private disk for your cloud plans and ensures there’s no single point of failure.
Performance. We’ve monitored Kamatera carefully and saw it perform really well. More precisely, we’ve recorded 100% uptime and an average response time of 187ms, which is far better than the market’s average of 600ms.
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Average response time: | 187ms |

6. InterServer– cheap monthly reseller hosting
| Features: | cPanel, Web Host Manager, malware protection, automated backups |
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Speed: | 1.01s |
| Best for: | Highly secure month-to-month hosting |
InterServer is an all-rounder when it comes to reseller hosting. It has flexible plans that can be scaled as needed, but the main attraction is monthly billing. This is the most affordable way to start a reseller web hosting business.
Interface. Each account gets management software and cPanel accounts for clients. Overall, it’s more of a bare-bones service that you can tweak however you like. That’s why it’s better for developers and other experienced users.
Features. InterServer is quite a simple but reliable reseller hosting provider. It offers security features such as automated backups, a custom firewall, and recovery. Not to mention, essentials like domains you can connect to and email accounts you can create are not limited.
Performance. Over the monitoring period, InterServer proved to be steady and reliable, yet a little sluggish. During the monitoring, we’ve recorded a perfect 100% uptime. The average response time, on the other hand, was 1s, which isn’t the best compared to what’s available on the market.
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Average response time: | 1s |
Customer support. InterServer offers three types of customer support: 24/7 live chat, phone, and email. However, the availability isn’t the most flattering one. It seems that agents often get stuck behind the more advanced problems, and you’re left without an answer.
Pricing. This provider has 5 cPanel reseller hosting plans. The cheapest among those, i.e., RS One, costs $19.95/month if you renew monthly. The RS Five, i.e., the most expensive plan, costs $69.95/month. 7. HostArmada – best reseller hosting for hands-off client site management
| Features: | cPanel, WHM, WHMCS, NVMe storage |
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Speed: | 94.57ms |
| Best for: | Secure managed reseller hosting |
HostArmada is another good hosting provider if you manage client websites but don’t want to deal with server maintenance yourself. It gives each client a separate cPanel account, includes white-label branding, and adds managed support, so you do not have to fix every server, backup, or security issue on your own.
Interface. HostArmada uses WHM for reseller management and cPanel for client accounts, a standard setup for reseller hosting, so it will be familiar if you have worked with hosting before. You can also use white-label hosting to remove HostArmada branding and present the service under your own business name.
Features. HostArmada’s reseller plans are quite generous and include unlimited websites, 40 to 150 cPanel accounts, 50GB to 200GB NVMe storage, and 3TB to 12TB bandwidth. The exact resources depend on the plan. You also get free SSL certificates, 30 daily backups, malware scanning and removal, WAF, IP firewall protection, dynamic caching, LiteSpeed-based speed features, and Cloudflare CDN integration.
Performance. Performance. HostArmada performed well in our in-house testing, maintaining 100% uptime and a fast 94.57ms average response time. It also handled a 50-user stress test without any HTTP failures. While it isn't the cheapest reseller hosting provider on this list, its performance was among the strongest we recorded.
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Average response time: | 94.57ms |
Customer support. HostArmada has 24/7 support available through live chat, tickets, phone, and email. You also get a knowledge base with tutorials for common hosting tasks. If self-help is not enough, the support team lists quick response times: instant chat and phone support, 10 minutes for tickets, and 1 hour for email.
Pricing. HostArmada reseller hosting starts at $18.20/month with a 2-year subscription. It also includes a 45-day money-back guarantee, though this does not apply to monthly billing.
Overall, HostArmada is a good fit if you want to resell hosting without managing the server side yourself. It gives agencies and freelancers white-label cPanel accounts, WHMCS billing, daily backups, malware removal, and fast, tested response times in one package.

8. HostPapa– reseller hosting service with white-labeled cPanel
| Features: | cPanel, SSL, WHM, white-label panel |
| Uptime: | 100% |
| Speed: | 119ms |
| Best for: | Flexible hosting for agencies and resellers |
HostPapa offers many reseller hosting plans for various needs. Cheaper plans are great for providing hosting for your developed websites as a freelancer or agency. Meanwhile, high-end plans are excellent for starting your own hosting business.
Interface. For management, you get the WHM panel, while your clients get white-labeled cPanel. The good thing about the latter is that you can put your own logo to look more professional. Unfortunately, billing software is not included in the 2 cheaper plans. That’s why I recommend these not for reselling web hosting but for hosting the websites you’ve built for clients.
Features. With HostPapa, you get a bunch of perks: strong security that includes SSL, DDoS protection, firewalls, and domain privacy protection. Private name servers, 2 IP addresses, and domain reselling options are there too.
Performance. HostPapa has flawless uptime and below-average server speed. During the monitoring, HostPapa showed a 100% uptime rate. As for server response time, it averaged at 119ms.

Pricing. You can choose one of the 5 reseller plans HostPapa provides. The cheapest plan costs $30.99/month for a one-year subscription. This cost goes to $25.99/month for 3 years or $49.99/month if you wish to buy monthly. A standard 30-day money-back guarantee is also included.
All in all, HostPapa has very flexible reseller plans for various needs. It also won’t cause you any trouble when it comes to security and reliability.

How to choose reseller web hosting?
Choosing a reseller hosting plan is fairly easy if you know what you are looking for. Pricing goes without saying. But, apart from that, some of the fundamental elements to analyze include server resources, performance, uptime, support, scalability, and control panel.
Anyway, if you want to measure the capability or the value for money factor, look for:
Server specifications
Depending on the number of clients you wish to serve, the first thing to look at is server specifications.
- Type. Reseller plans are usually based on VPS and Cloud technology, yet you can sometimes see shared hosting offerings. VPS and Cloud will perform better in all cases.
- Disk space. Calculate the needed disk space beforehand. For instance, if your milestone is to sell plans to 30 people at an average of 20GB disk space, choose a plan with at least 30*20 = 600GB storage. Moreover, try to get SSD storage because it’s faster than older HDDs, and people specifically look for it.
- Bandwidth. Most hosting companies mention monthly bandwidth capacity. So, let me explain in that context: Bandwidth is the total amount of data transfer (in GB/month or TB/month) allowed by the server provider. For example, if all the 30 clients expect an average of 10,000 visitors a month, with each visitor downloading/viewing an average of 2MB of content, the bandwidth required will be 30*10000*2 = 6000000MB or 6000GB. In short, the more bandwidth you have, the more plans you can sell.
- Memory/RAM. Most reseller providers state the total RAM or RAM per user with their plan. Memory can read and write data way faster than secondary storage (SSD/HDD). Therefore, it’s used to store frequently accessed files so that the user can have them swiftly. For instance, every time a user opens your site, certain scripts need to be accessed for the full experience; such scripts are made available in RAM to save time. Plus, any data a visitor tries to retrieve will be stored in memory from secondary storage if it’s not already there. In case there are concurrent visitors, there needs to be enough space in RAM for all. Hence, RAM or memory is a crucial aspect to check.
- CPU. The last thing you need to know about the plan you choose is its CPU configuration – the type of CPU, number of cores, and clock speed. It’s basically the brain of your server. It sends and receives signals from and to components to keep everything functional.
Performance
Checking the hosting performance is vital because the result you get through testing the hosting server is the result that any of your clients will also get.
Some of the key performance measures are:
- Uptime: Uptime is the time during which the server is operational. Ideally, you want 100% uptime, but the industry-standard guarantee is 99.9%.
- Response time: It’s the time taken by the server to respond to requests made by a web browser. Server response time of under 600ms is recommended.
Support
One of the reasons why reseller plans are cheap is that you will be providing customer support. And to help your clients effectively and quickly, you sometimes need to contact the hosting company you bought the reseller plan from.
Therefore, testing the provider’s support and looking at other customers’ reviews is essential. “Were they quick to respond?”, “Did they solve the problem?”, “Is the team technically sound?” and “Are there enough ways to get in touch?” are some of the prime questions you need positive answers to.
Scalability
If your customers like your hosting and you market it the right way, chances are more people will want to buy from you. In that case, you will need a more powerful server(s) to fulfill everyone’s needs.
However, you can’t just buy unnecessary resources because you see the chances of getting more customers, or you see existing customers asking for upgrades. Therefore, the wise thing to do is to consider a hosting provider that can easily upgrade or scale your existing plan.
Management options
For your customers, you are the hosting provider because you rebranded using the white-label feature. Hence, you need to act as if you manage everything. To achieve that, the company you purchase from gives you some controls, and you need to be aware of those.
- cPanel accounts. You will be configuring and handing a control panel to your customers for them to handle their portion of the server. In most cases, there is a limit to the number of such accounts one can create. For example, InMotion’s base plan allows 25 cPanel accounts, so you can’t sell more than 25 plans on that server.
- WHM: WHM or Web Host Manager is a powerful program that gives you admin access to the server you own/rent. Using it, you can create cPanel accounts, monitor your server, secure your server, and do everything an admin can. Mostly, you get a host manager, but still, check for one.
- WHM complete solution. Some providers also give free access to software like WHMCS to handle your billings and support. Look for it.
Overall, these are the primary elements to consider while opting for a reseller web hosting provider. Once you have found your ideal host to sell further, don't forget to brand it properly. Set up a trustworthy website with quality support and billing, and proceed with high-quality marketing.
Best reseller web hosting: final recommendations
My favorite hosting reseller is InMotion Hosting. I like it because it offers all the essential features with extras without overpaying. After all, to start a hosting business or handle multiple client sites, reseller hosting is the most efficient option. So, it must be a partner in crime you can blindly trust.
Yet, InMotion Hosting might not be the one that you’re looking for. Therefore, I tested more than a dozen reseller plans from different companies overall, and these were the 7 companies that offered the best services of all:
- InMotion Hosting: one of the cheapest ways to get reseller service, InMotion is also among the best equipped in terms of server resources and features.

- HostPapa: one of the best options to start your own agency or reseller business, HostPapa has one of the most flexible reseller plans among the competitors.
Best reseller hosting FAQ
What is reseller hosting?
Reseller hosting is a service where you can rent server space, software, and bandwidth from a hosting-focused and competent hosting company. This way, you become somewhat of an individual web hosting provider that resells its part of rented servers.
How does reseller hosting work?
For starters, reselling hosting doesn’t require you to have a developed infrastructure, unlike web hosting providers do. To run the business, you need to partner up with a reputable web hosting service, and then you can start reselling hosting server space.
Is reseller hosting profitable?
Yes, a reseller web hosting business can be highly profitable. You just need to take care of a couple of things. 1) Find a good reseller provider so your service is top-notch – this will make sure the customers won’t leave. 2) Market and brand your hosting properly to attract customers.
What is the difference between reseller web hosting and a referral program?
As a reseller, you become a business partner who must have a stable financial base to run and develop web hosting reselling. Whereas the referral program is based on business owners or customers who help improve web hosting sales.
How do I manage clients as a reseller?
As a reseller, you only need to provide customer support for your clients. This means that the hardware, software, and connectivity parts are not in your care. The price is also usually up to you.
