Apple’s new Mac mini may not include a USB-A port

Apple has made more changes to its Mac mini while working on a new line of its Magic Keyboard.

After news that Apple is working on releasing its smallest desktop computer with a renewed design, more details about the new device have resurfaced.

The latest Mac mini will have five USB-C ports but no longer include a USB-A port. Apple is known for removing connectors to simplify device designs. However, this isn’t a convenient solution for users.

Bloomberg reports that Mac’s M4 Pro version will have five USB-C ports, including an Ethernet port, HDMI connector, and headphone jack. However, the future Mac mini won’t include a USB-A port.

The Mac mini, equipped with an M4 chip, is expected to be shipped from China in September, and M4 Pro-equipped devices a month later.

The company is also working on a low-end Magic keyboard for iPad Pro that could be released next year.

A few months ago, Apple released an updated version of the Magic Keyboard with an aluminum palm rest, a bigger trackpad, and function keys. The upcoming Magic Keyboard won’t include the same components but will have other features, such as a function row.

It’s expected that the device could be released in the middle of next year and be used for “an entry-level iPad or the new iPad Airs.”
